GERRY GRANAHAN - DICKY DOO
& THE DON'TS, THE FIREFLIES Granahan
started out as a DJ in his home-town before switching to a music career. At 17
he began recording demos for Elvis Presley at the latter’s Gladys Music firm. In
1958 he co-wrote “No Chemise, Please” and recorded it under his name for Sunbeam
Records; it reached #23. That same year Granahan also reached the US charts as a
member of the Fireflies, who just missed the top 20 with the ballad “You Were
Mine.” Gerry also led Dicky Doo & The Don’ts, who charted five times,
including “Click Clack.” In later years Granahan produced “Jay & the
Americans,” “The Angels,” "Janie Grant," “Linda Scott,” “Patty Duke," and ran
his own Caprice label. Gerry currently teamed up with Charlie Quintal to reform
their production company.
