GEDEON LUKE - SEASON 5 AMERICAN IDOL
Gedeon Luke
was born on October 1, 1988 in Memphis, TN, the son of noted blues singer,
Anthony “Tony” McKinney. Gedeon began performing in the school choir at age 9
and by the age of 14 he joined the acclaimed Yo! Memphis
Show Choir, where he quickly became a soloist. In 2005
Gedeon decided to audition for the 2006 American Idol Television show and with his uplifting personality and talented
vocal
ability,
Gedeon not only landed a spot on the show, he also went on to become a male semifinalist, before being voted off even to the
surprise of Simon Cowell. After Gedeon’s
run on Idol ended, he moved to NY. In late 2008,
through a mutual acquaintance Gedeon was introduced to
songwriter/producers Dave Derby & Marc Swersky.
Together they blended rich soulful
melodies, lyrics steeped in a message of hope and love and
all wrapped in a funky guitar driven sound. With the debut EP “Gedeon Luke” to be released in the fall of 2010
and with his desire to perform, Gedeon now sets out to share
his message of “You got to believe in a World Unreal.”
