Brenna GetHers is a recording artist that received her first
solo success when she was named as a semifinalist on American Idol Season Five
in 2006. "Music is a mirror, reflective of her experiences"
says Brenna. Her style is a mix of R&B, hip-hop/soul and rap in the genre of singer/songwriters to the likes of Lauryn Hill, Keisha
Cole, Neyo and Drake. On her first tour in 2006, she was an
opening act for Ruben Studdard in the Superstar Idols tour, alongside other
American Idols. Her sound evoked the soulfulness of the 70’s when she teamed up
with the funk band, the Bomb Squad, in early 2007. Brenna helps build her
community by supporting her local YMCA, along with charity appearances for The
SHADE Foundation (Kurt and Shonda Shilling’s Charity) in late 2008, and New
York’s Good Samaritan Hospital. Brenna finished her first mixtape, entitled
"BeeUTeefulAmeriknIDolL Vol.1" in late spring 2010 and she's preparing for a
promotional college tour later this year.
